B & R 10 does not support Server 2008 R2? Problems with "Systempartition 100 MB"
Hi everybody,
tried unsuccessfully to back up a Windows Server 2008 R2 Standard with the latest Backup & Recovery 10.
I have 3 partitions, the 100 MB Systempartition that is created automagically during installation, a C: partition and a D: partition.
I can backup C: and D:, but not the 100 MB Systempartition.
When I include that, I get an error "Partitionierungsfehler" (=partitioning error) and the backup stops.
I tried to get help via chat, but the first answer was: "Server 2008 R2" is not supported. Try to backup via Boot-CD.
This is abit hard to accomplish with a server in a rack in a datacenter 550 Km away...
Has anybody a solution how to make a functional, complete image to my Backup-NAS?
Thanks for your help!

Hello Joachim and Fabian!
Thank you for finding time to report about the issue! I completely understand it and will be glad to help you to solve it.
Dear Joachim! This partition error appears in case there is an issue with the SnapAPI drivers responsible for accessing the HDD and creating the snapshot, but we have a solution for it. Please kindly download the Acronis Backup and Recovery SnapAPI 512 available in this article. Please note that this version of SnapAPI drivers suits only Backup and Recovery products's line and may corrupt the Acronis True Image (Acronis True Image Home) installation.
I would also suggest you to follow the instructions listed - it should resolve the issue you have faced.
Dear Fabian, same solution to your case - please kindly download the SnapAPI 503 for Acronis True Image Home and install it onto your machine.
Should the issue persist, we will need some additional information for successful investigation.
- Acronis Info from the machine in question
- Acronis Report
- SnapAPI logs (install with enable logging)
Kindly contact us with the information gathered - it will help us to identify the exact cause of the issue in your particular case.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
Thank you!
