B & R 11 Failed to get activity details

My backup plan copies some folders to a removalable USB memory stick (defined as L:) which is rotated on a daily basis. The backup type is set to full and to delete old backups after 14 days. On the status email created at the end of each execution, there is a message stating that the backup has worked (and I can see another .TIB file on the USB stick) but then I get an additional message "Failed to get activity details" followed references to a secondary backup location. My backup plan makes no use of a secondary location so what's going on? I can't find any details about the error codes either.
