Back up of MBR & Track 0

Thread needs solution

Acronis True Image Home 9.0
My hard disk (DISK1) is configured for two partitions. C: contains the operating system (NTFS) while D: contains data. I usually backup the NTFS partition without the data (D:) and everything works fine. However, I now realize that, because I backup only the NTFS partition the MBR & Track 0 are not being backed up.
QUESTION:
1. Will I be in trouble if I need to replace my hard disk with a new one unformatted as I will not have saved my original MBR and Track 0?
2. Would I be better off to separately backup MBR and Track0 in another image file and restore it before or after the NTFS partition has been restored?

I think I may need some suggestion on how to backup both the NTFS and MBR track0 of the disk WITHOUT the data partition of the disk itself.

Thank you
Piero

What build of TI 9 are you using?

TI 9 (and future versions) include the MBR and Track 0 in every image backup (including those of only one partition).

Use the restore wizard with your image and see if the MBR and Track 0 option shows up along with your C: partition.

O.K. My backup image seems to contains both NTFS and MBR and Track 0. However, the restore process allows me to select only one of the two at the time. So....I am assuming I will have to restore one at the time as choosing both together isn't a possible choice. Am I correct?

Thanks again
Piero

You can only check one at a time. However, you can restore both of them in one restore procedure. In TI 9, after you select the first item to restore and continue through the wizard, it will ask if you want to restore another drive or partition. If you select 'yes', you can then check any unchecked item and continue.
