Backed up XP on version 11. Now have windows 7, wish to go back to XP.

Thread needs solution

Hi Everyone,

This is difficult to explain, I'll do my best.

I have had two HDs in my computer, one approx. 80 gig, and the other 1 tera, respectively.
I replaced the 80 gig with the 1 tera, so both not in the computer at the same time.

Both have had XP on both of them. I backed up both HDs on an external 80 gig HD,
using version 11, build 8,053.

I had windows 7 installed only on the 1 tera HD, which is in my computer right now.

I wish to go back to XP in the 1 tera (I know no updates.) I do not have windows.old
in windows 7.

Do I need to format the 1 tera HD, or simply reboot, and use restore and the external HD
with version 11?

Does it make any difference which back up I use off the external backup HD?

Cheers and thanks for help.

Steve

Note that you posted it to a wrong forum section - Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 & 11 Forum - while the software you use if True Image 11 (according to the build # ). You can use either of backups - made from 80Gb or 1TB disk, to restore to 1 TB disk. The best way is to boot the PC using the Acronis boot CD and recover. It's not necessary to format it before.

Thank you so much for the information Fedor.

My apologizes for the wrong forum.

Again thanks.
