Backup and Recovery 10 (build 1345) cannot access images located on a shared drive on Windows 7

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I'm using Backup and Recovery 10 (build 1345) bootable disk and I am keeping all of my backups on an exernal USB device attached to a PC with Windows 7 Ultimate. The backup process seems to be working fine. The challenge I've run into is that whenever I want to select recover a PC using bootable disk it takes exceptionally long time to browse through the network and it never finds any shared drives on Windows 7 PC where I am keeping my images and the "Loading..." circle continually spins.

However Acronis Workstation Echo 9.5 still works fine.
Thanks you.

Hello OZ,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

Please type the full UNC path specifying the archive location in the Path box. Also you can type in the IP address of the computer instead of computer name.

Also I would recommend you to try ISOLINUX Bootable Media.

There are two types of Acronis Bootable Media:

- Acronis Bootable Media that you can generate in your Acronis product. This type of media is based on Acronis Loader;

- Acronis Bootable Media that you can download from your account on the Acronis website. This type of media is based on ISOLINUX.

ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the web site more frequently than regular product updates are released.

You can find the information on how to download the appropriate ISOLINUX file in this article. Please see this article on how to burn an ISO file to a CD disk.

Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawless for you. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.
