Backup and Recovery 11 Advanced Server release?
Hi,
iam planning in the next weeks/monts to buy a server version with 10 or twenty client licences. Now because of the product lifecycle i want to ask if i should wait maybe a month because the next version is getting released. I dont want to be mad because i spend so much money to the version 10 if version 11 is getting released in very near future :( Because an upgrade would cost again a lot of money...
Dont get me wrong i already have a version 8 server and iam very happy with it. I hope you understand what i mean.
Kind regards

Hello Fernando,
Thank you for finding time to join Forum, it's nice to have you with us! I appreciate you found time to open the thread regarding this question, and will be glad to address it.
There's no need to worry, and here is why:
when you purchase Acronis Backup and Recovery Corporate edition product for the first time, it goes with the Acronis Advantage Premier Support Agreement, which is valid for 1 year and includes the following options:
- Free upgrade
- Support via Phone, Chat and E-mail 24x7
So should you purchase version 10, you will get the upgrade to Acronis Backup and Recovery 11 for free. You can find more details in this KB article.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
Thank you.

This might open up a can of worms but I am going to make the statement followed by a question. The statement is BR10 hasn't really worked right or well since it came out what? a year and a half ago? I believe everyone was "forced" in to buying AAPS because there was no choice. I will admit at this point BR10 is almost useable. The problem you are going to find is that if for some Acronis bails out on BR10 and comes out with BR11 here soon you are going to have a million users who spent the money on BR10 (as bad as it was/is) and are not going to be happy if asked to spend more to get BR11. That is going to be a rough sell.
The killer question which I am sure Acronis probably won't answer is ... how close is BR11 to being a reality?

Dear Acronis,
I tremble and shudder in fear in thoughts of upgrading your software. You have no idea how much dear time I have paid in hours of upgrading your software on my own time that I will never get back. We are not your guinea pigs, at least validate your software before distributing it, its as if its untested and we are your validators (theres at least a handful of times I've found issues in your software). To top it off, I am pestered by your sales team constantly who go from kindly asking if I want to buy your maintenance plans, and after working with your product for over 3 years, I know just how well your product works, and know better. I have watched them go from being friendly to being desperate, just like any other salesman, its annoying. I dont care for your upgrades and other features I could care less for and mean absolutely nothing to me. First, fix your product, and ensure you basic operations even work. There are so many issues you have open. I initially chose you over the competitors due to your lower price, but my goodness have raised it quite a bit in just the last several years and now touching your competitors price, but perform below par.
I could not believe, in my own experience with your tech support, that you have not been testing backups and recoveries to optical media, a feature you advertise, one of the simplest and most widely known backup practice. Dont get me wrong or believe it ends here, I have used every version of server ATI 9 and B&R10 and know all the little imperfections, bugs, etc; and I dont even get paid to find them, this is discovered without doing anything off the wall or out of the ordinary. Right now, I have no confidence in your software, if I could refund it, I would, because I know the "other guys" solution works and cant figure out why yours doesn't, and I would be able to sleep at night.
PS, i know enough of the the chat and phone support people, you guys are great, and have often times been my heroes. However, you also need to put pressure on those designing the software, and those supposed to be testing it; it would make your job easier.
No thanks, I am content with your older software, it works. At least you have downgrade options. Who would seriously want to become guinea pigs here? I sometimes ask if checklists, test plans, or validation plans exist or are practiced prior to releasing new builds, if so, why are there issues such as previously working features no longer working.
