Backup and Recovery Upgrade 10 to 11 problem

Hello

I am trying to upgrade version 10 Backup and Recovery to version 11 using ABR11A_17217_en-EU.exe

However on running the install I get the message "Prepration for installation has failed" followed by "A version of Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 in another language is installed on the machine. To install the English UK version, please unistall the current version first."

We do NOT have version 11 installed at all!

Does anyone have any ideas of what we can do.

I had an issue upgrading / uninstalling ABR 10, I used their abr_cleanup.exe tool which deleted anything ABR off the system and allowed for a clean install. So far that has worked well for me.

Hi Duncan

It might be best to contact Acronis support on this one, perhaps a Beta was installed at some stage in the past? If this is the case an uninstall of ABR10 then a cleanup utility might be required before you are able to install ABR11 on this server. Either way this process above should fix up this issue but best contacting support to ensure they give you the latest version of this utility and they can talk you through it if needed.

Is it possible that the prevous version (ABR10) language is not en-EU? It may (EDIT: it, actually, does so) complain about impossibility of cross-language upgrade in this way.
