Backup failing: Constantly entering credentials for backup location even tho the details have been entered.

Thread needs solution

Hello

We have a Acronis Backup and Recovery installed on a server, we have created a backup plan which backups to a network share. For the last few days the backups have been failing and everytime we go into the backup plan it says "cannot obtain location information because cannot get access to the location" and we have to re-enter the credentials. Once they are entered we run a manual backup and it works successfully but when the backup runs at its schedule time it fails with the same issue. We have tried using the administrator account and also the acronis account that it creates when you install the product. Any ideas from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Laura,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum. I will definitely assist you with this issue.

Have you tried providing credentials of the user that has access to that network share?

Is this a Linux share by any chance? I believe the fastest way to resolve this problem is to contact our Support team directly because troubleshooting it here in the forum can take some time, I will need to look at the AcronisInfo report to study the program logs.

When contacting our Support team please include the following:

1. AcronisInfo report from the machine where the backup is running.

2. Wireshark logs.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
