backup file name

Thread needs solution

Hi, We have ABR 10 Adv for serevrs , when we make a backup to the specified vault and in the NAME section we put : %PolicyName%_%MachineName%__DISK_C- it save a backup using %PolicyName%_%MachineName%__DISK_C- + additional characters smth. like this : policy_data_server1_DISK_D-_2010_08_03_05_28_01_343D.TIB. I tried different options in "where to backup " section : "store all machine's archive in a single location" and so on ... Please advise. thanks in advance, Nico

Yes. What is in the 'Name' section is archive name, that is policy_data_server1_DISK_D for this policy and this machine, and the name of the tib file of its first backup is policy_data_server1_DISK_D-_2010_08_03_05_28_01_343D.TIB . When you make incremental backup, or another full backup to the same archive its name will be different, the existing .tib file will not be touched. See thread 3323.
