Backup Filename Parameters @date@, @time@, more?

Thread needs solution

Each time I create a new backup task, acronis suggests a location like:
Z:\My Backups\MyBackup__@date@.tib

@date@ translates into the backup date. I tried @time@ and that worked.
J:\My Backups\MyBackup__@date@_@time@.tib produced a file name like:
J:\My Backups\MyBackup__10_25_2009_9h11m.tib

  • Where are these filename parameters documented?
  • Are there more? If y, What are they?
  • Can the format of the date and time be changed?

I understand from a previous thread that the sequence number is always added as a suffix. Can the format of the sequence number be changed.

I am using version: Acronis True Image Home 2010.

Thanks in advance.

This issue is new to the 2010 version. There are 6 fields (date, time, user name, machine name, task name, task run number) and you can select them when generating an archive name as part of creating a backup. I use date-time-machine-run.

I don't know where the fields are documented, but I did ask support about the date format. With previous versions, date was in the logical YMD sequence. Using DMY is a fundamental programming error, especially since it can't be changed by the user.

The result is that backups are not filed in date/time sequence within the backup folder, which will get to be an absolute pain as the number of backups and increments increases.

Acronis need to fix this urgently, reverting to YMD as in TI version 11, or making date format a user option.

*/sigh*/ I'm talking twaddle - ignore this post

At least you have a choice LOL! In the server version it is not optional and you can not get rid of it. You het @date and @time wether you want it or not! Count your blessing LOL. Acronis isn't even responding to the problems with their horrid, horrid naming conventions. They are a joke and a total waste of time!

The file name parameters are confusing to me.  Please provide the file name documentation that includes the parameters that may be used in the file name definition.  Also please provide the format and list any other details around backup file names.  Please refer to the first post on this thread.

Thanks... Paul

Using Acronis 2014 @date@ and/or [date] and/or @time@ and/or [time] yields exactly that in the filename when documentations states it should be
_MM_DD_YYYY and ##h##m- can anyone shed light as to what is correct

Milton,

I'm unclear as to what you mean. Are you saying you are getting the word @date@ or @time@ shown in the file name, or the actual numerical date and time?

If you are referring to the format, it should be taking the format from your Windows region setup.
