hello

I've some workstations running XP with raid controller from NVIDIA (raid 1)
i would like to know of i can backup these workstations over network while they are working and if this backup affect the users in any thing, and if it's effective with raid drives (i want to backup the whole drive as image).

note : I'm using acronis backup & recovery server 11

Overall hardware performance is the key factor, if it makes sense to start backups during business hours - you should simply try. If needed you can set the backup plan to low priority.
RAID should not be an issue.

Letting all machines start backups during peak hours may not a good idea, but you can either use
- Wake-on-LAN or "Distribute start time within the time window" (http://www.acronis.com/support/documentation/ABR11/index.html#3992.html - both only in Advanced versions with Management Server)
- or simply lunch time to avoid overloading your network and/or NAS.

btw: you will need to buy ABR11 for each workstation, not only for the server
