Backup Solution with 2 RAID Arrays

Thread needs solution

Just upgraded to latest build for SBS and revaluating backup procedures.

I have an SBS 2003 machine with RAID 1 Array for OS and Raid 5 Array for storage. In the past I had a task that ran backup for OS volume (RAID 1 Array) and a task for Storage volume (RAID 5 Array). Should I keep the separate tasks for each volume, or can I consolidate into one task? If I consolidate will this help or complicate recovery process to bare metal system?

Thank you

Hello Bryan,

Thank you for posting. I will definitely help you with your question.

It is up to you, I see no issues with either scenarios but from my experience it is more practical to have 1 task for the OS and 1 task for the data. This way, if there is an issue during recovery you are more flexible in the way you can select different partition for recovery.

Just in case we have a KB article that has a step-by-step guide for recovery, if you are not using Acronis Universal Restore you can skip that part.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
