Backup Volumes of a Virtual machine
We are having all sorts of problems with ABR Advance Virtual Server.
As well as my other post, we are unable to backup volumes of a vm.
if i set the source type to "Volumes of a Virtual machine" when I try to select disks and volumes, it reports:
There are no items to show in this view.
see attached image.
Documentation is poor, and unclear. Specs say 11105 and later support Windows 2008 x64 R2, but has Hyper-V R2 been tested?

no response from Acronis.
This is not looking promising, the rate at which 'Oleg' replies to most messages, makes me think that this ticket is being ignored.
After talking to some support reps, it seems no one at Acronis understands Hyper-V R2 and the underlying changes that this revision brings.
Furthermore, the suppliers claims that Hyper-V R2 is fully supported (from build 11105) is incorrect, as Cluster Shared Voulumes cant be backed up.
Since CSV are required for Hyper-V Live Migration, it seems that at present, Acronis BR AS VE 10, is not suitable for production deployment.
I would appriciate a response from Acronis to confirm that this ticket and the issues it raises have been acknowledged.

Hello Nick,
Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]
You are correct, Cluster Shared Volumes are not supported now. Our developers are working to implement the support. The exact time frame of the implementation is unknown, the issue is under investigation.
About There are no items to show error.
We are aware of the problem, it is also under investigation. But we do not have enough collected information about it. If you agree to provide us with several diagnostic files, please let me know about it via PMs. Please don't forget to make the reference to this thread.
Thank you.

Another Acronis Build, and this STILL does not work.
Whilst build 11345 does seem to recognise that the VHD is on a CSV volume, it still can not access it, so this problem still persists.
"There are no items to show in this view."
This also means that complete VM backups fail. So this product is still worthless if you are a Hyper-V user.

Hi all !
Before buying it, I'm trying to backup a complete VM on a Hyper-V Failover Cluster "2008 R1" (understand "not R2"), with ABR Advance Virtual Server build 11345, and I have the same problem.
We use GUID disks, but I think it's not a problem.
Can you please confirm that's it's the same pb (and then that the issue will probably the same too) ?
Thanks !

Hi!
It's unbelieveable but on my Systems the trial I have use on November 2009, worked very fine on Hyper-V Failover-Cluster. There have not been problems backing up the Host or the Guests.
But since upgrading to the full version there are only Problems.
First it was impossible to update to the full version, then after uninstalling the trial, it was impossible to install the full version and now the host will be backed up, but it is impossible to backup the guests and it seems to be no way out!
I wish to go back to the trial!
