Backups stopped - help please
Acronis B&R 11 has worked fine on my computer for at least 3 years. 10 days ago it stopped.
I could see my NAS was running out of disk space before that. I tried to make Acronis delete an old full backup (I'm on G-F-S), but after a day and a half, it had not succeeded, so I cancelled it. Eventually, a Son backup failed for lack of space. I moved some non-Acronis files to make a great deal of new space available, and expected Acronis to leap back into life.
It didn't. A backup will start, but it sits there for a very long time. The last two ran 3 days, 16 hours and 47 hours respectively before terminating, and said they had 'succeeded with warnings', but there was no backup to be found.
I surmise that this is because there are two files in the destination directory for my backups that have .lck extensions (BE4A3199-E751-45EF-A35F-F97E6CB2AEF6_backup.lck and BE4A3199-E751-45EF-A35F-F97E6CB2AEF6.lck).
I now need to:
a) make sure my backups are usable (which I am not sure now), and
b) make future backups.
I have tried everything I can think of, including:
i) reading ALL the posts here that I can find for someone with something like my problem
ii) removing the .lck files. Windows says they are in use by another program (even when the Acronis computer is switched off). They cannot be moved or deleted. Even Unlocker will not unlock them.
iii) upgrading my product to one which has support, but I cannot find a suitable link, and it is baffling to select which of your products would preserve my existing backups.
iv) Acronis will not take a dump.
v) I am quite happy to pay for a product upgrade, and I submitted a request for an upgrade path a week ago, but nothing has come back to me.
vi) I am quite happy to pay for a support request, but the link or your website did not go anywhere.
Please suggest any course of action that gets Acronis's normally robust show back on the road again.
Regards
JT
