Bootable media agent/one-click restore not created when backing up to flash drive
Hi - using ABR 10 for windows server on a 2003 x64 server.
I'm trying to create a single backup to a corsair flash voyager GT 32GB thumb drive.
I have formatted it as NTFS and have selected to add the "acronis bootable agent and one-click restore" from the media components section in the options menu.
the backup runs sucessfully but it does not create the bootable components on the drive - even though the logs show the bootable media creation process as successful (see attachment)
can anyone advise?
regards...

I've come up with aprox. the same results attempting to use the one-click to backup to my USB external hard drive. I've found that two conditions exist:
1) If the external drive is not present (off) then an error "(0x0) Tag = 0x0" it thrown. If [Continue] is selected from the error reporting window then, apparently, a task is scheduled and when/if the H/D becomes present the task starts automatically. Then the condition below comes into play!
2) If the external drive is present but has not been given the same drive letter as was set-up then the program seems to continue with the backup and will report a successful backup when, in fact, nothing was saved!
I'd suggest that this routine be given the ability to test for the existence of a valid drive/path and if none is found then request the user to supply such or abort. If no answer is forthcoming within a given time frame then exit the program.
Also, I don't like things happening "automatically". I've repeatedly set this routine to "Do Not Schedule" but it will schedule a task after an error anyhow.
In short, I'm not very happy with this interface at all!

adminbod,
As far as I know, those features only work on CD and DVD media. They are not supported on flashdrives or hard drives. In my tests, the options are not even available if a flashdrive is selected as the destination. They only show up when the CD/DVD drive is selected. (Check the options on the backup screen, not the "default" options.)
If you want the Agent or other recovery media on the flashdrive, you'd need to put it there manually.

Thank you for posting, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.Mudcrab is correct, USB flash drive or USB hard drive are not supported, you can use only CD or DVD media for these purposes. Please see this article on how to use SYSLINUX to create a bootable USB flash drive. Please note that you should place Acronis Bootable Media and the archive to the same partition (i.e. you shouldn’t create the second partition to place the backup archive to), because this second partition will not be detected from within Windows. Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawlessly. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.Thank you.
thanks,very useful for me.
