I'm getting the same error. It has nothing to do with the drive tray. The error appears when attempting to create an rescue media ISO image. All the error says is
E00180012:
Error Code: 0x180012
[OK] [Cancel]

Then "Failed to create boot media"

Event occurs right after clicking proceed button.
I'm running Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Update 5 with Universal Restore

Any ideas??

Hello all,

Thank you for reporting about the issue, and for your comments.

Have you tried a workaround:

  1. Download the latest updates ISO from your account
  2. Burn it onto the CD

This can solve the problem of creating a bootable media.

The original issue can be caused by different reasons, most possible: some third-party software drivers are using the DVD/CD-ROM. It can be solved by the reboot or disabling the product using the drive as well. If these steps doesn't help, please gather Acronis Info and open a support request with the information attached, and let us know its number.

Let us know if you have any questions or concern, we will be glad to assist you.

Hello all,

I am getting the same error code when I try to create a bootable usb stick. Does anyone have any thoughts?

Thank you very much!

Hi David,
you might want to consider either downloading .iso image of bootable media under account or upgrading to the newest version.
Thank you.
