B&R dies when accessing \\sourcePCName\c$\ across a network - if c:\ is not explicitly shared

Thread needs solution

I've just tried restoring an image across a network using B&R and have come across some problems:

If the source (Windows) PC drive/folder is explicitly shared:

 - then accessing and restoring an image across a network works fine.

If the source (Windows) PC drive is not explicilty shared:

 - then accessing a vault for example: \\sourcePCName\c$\ (via an admin acount) loads the vault then immediately kills B&R and reboots the machine.

This seems like another pretty serious flaw in B&R, any idea what's causing this?

Regards,

Jarrad.

If the build number differs from the latest one, please download and install the latest build. You can learn more on how to do it here.

If the issue remains, please collect the following information:

1)  If you use Windows XP:

- Press the Start button, choose Run, type drwtsn32 and hit Enter;- In the dialog that appears check the Log File Path and Crash Dump paths;

- After that you will see a folder (or a few folders), the name of which starts with "Report"
- Collect the Report.wer file from the last created folder.

2) - Open Start\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Information;
- Choose the "Save" option in the "File" menu (or "Action" menu under Windows 2000), enter the "File name" and set the field "Save as type" to "System Information File (*.NFO)";
