Can not restart computer

Thread needs solution

I installed the latest version of acronis backup and recovery 10 version on a windows 7 professional computer. I have 2 problems:

1- When i choose to recover C drive on my computer, acronis does not restart the computer even though i click 'restart'. Therefore, i can't recover my C drive unless I use a bootCD to do it.

2- I successfully create Acronis Safe zone but i can't restart the computer to activate it.

How can I fix these problems? Thank you

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.

To resolve the issue please temporarily detach any USB storage device that is plugged in. Let Acronis software to perform the operation with the USB storage device detached.

If you have an inbuilt card reader, then disable it through Windows Device Manager:

  1. Hit Win-R to get to the command prompt;
  2. Type in devmgmt.msc and hit Enter;
  3. In the Device Manager window locate your card reader (it probably starts with letters SD, MMC etc);
  4. Right-click on the card reader and select Disable.

Also, as a workaround, you can try performing the same operation from Acronis Bootable Rescue Media. See Standalone Version of Acronis Backup Software.

If you are not using the latest build 11345 you may want to update to it. It is generally a good idea to be up-to-date. The latest build contains the necessary drivers and may solve the issue.
