Cannot configure network connection

Thread needs solution

I am using a boot disk created from the same PC that I am trying to restore. It boots to the Acronis loader, I click tools to try to configure the network settings but the window to enter the IP address will not open. I created another boot disk that had the network setting entered but I can't get to network resources.
If I boot to Windows on this PC the network card works. So it is as if the NIC is not enabled outside windows.
Thanks

I am having this same issue. The NIC card is a new brand new Dell box with XP. The card is on the motherboard and when loaded into Windows XP we are able to connect to the Backup Server and see things on the network. However when trying boot from the Acronis Boot Media no NIC card is registered in the Acronis Remote Agent window and when I try to connect to the Network Configuration screen, the entire screen is grayed out, not allowing any IP address to be associated with the machine.

Hello all,

Thank you very much for your posts and I would like to apologize for not replying earlier. I will definitely help you with this issue.

Most likely the network card is not detected because the Acronis bootable CD does not have the necessary drivers for it.

As a workaround, I can suggest using an Acronis bootable CD based on ISOLINUX. It is a different loader which is updated on a more regular basis and we recommend it when there are issues with the CD created with the software.

Please refer to this article from our Knowledge Base that explains about the difference between the bootable CDs in more detail as well as shows how you can download it.

If, after trying the ISOLINUX CD you run into the same issue, please let me know and I will continue assisting you.

Please let me know if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
