Cannot install Acronis true image workstation echo v9.7.8398 ENG

Thread needs solution

I want to try it at my home laptop pc , cannot install it.
I'm guessing it might be connected to some services I've disabled in the past but I don't know which one. Adding full msiexec & sysinfo logs.
BTW do you have backup & restore + disk managers for linux OS's ?

Hello Rpz79!

Thank you for the detailed information!

According to the log you have kindly sent we can see that installation package had identified the traces of the previous product left

1: MSIGEN:Product found {2545228C-6A70-4A01-B936-6DA77984D298}
1: MSIGEN:Self shortcut found BOOTAB~1|Bootable Rescue Media Builder
1: MSIGEN:Self shortcut found ACRONI~2|Acronis True Image Echo Workstation
1: MSIGEN:Self shortcut found ACRONI~3|Acronis True Image Echo Workstation
1: MSIGEN:Self shortcut found ACRONI~4|Acronis WinPE ISO Builder
1: MSIGEN:Determine path to the cached package for the product {2545228C-6A70-4A01-B936-6DA77984D298}

and this is preventing us from installing the product. To resolve the issue we need to remove the key identified.

For this please take the first part of the value in brackets (2545228C), rewrite it in the reverse order (it should be C8225452, please check), then open the following branch of the system registry on the problem machine:

    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Installer\UpgradeCodes
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\Features
    • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\Installer\UpgradeCodes

Look for the key starting with the reversed part of the code we got (C8225452). After that make sure the rest of the key name digits also match the other parts of the entry found in the MSI log, in reverse order. It should look like C8225452-07A6-10A4-639B-892D48977AD6 (we need to revert every part of the key separately).

Having found the registry key, please delete the key and start the installation again.

Regarding your product question: sure we have Backup and Recovery solution for Linux, you can find the description here, but unfortunately we do not have the separate Disk Management solution for the Linux OS.

I would appreciate if you could keep me updated regarding the issue so that I could assist you in case anything else happens.

Thank you in advance.
