Can't Delete Backup Plan - Execution State "Stopping"
ABR 10 workstation on W7 Ultimate x64. I have a backup plan that has had an execution state of "stopping" for over 1 month. It is a manual full disk image backup and I can't delete or edit the plan, its just stuck there. Any help appreciated.

Hi.
I had the same problem on 93 servers at the same time.
do the following:
-run "services.msc"
-stop any acronis services (if they don't stop disable them and kill the relevant process from task manager; then enable them back)
-restart services
now you should be able to cancel the task

Thanks Hyphen. I tried this and it did not work for me. I'm using ABR 10 Workstation. When I disable Managed Machine Service, I lose connection with the localhost. If Acronis is not running, it won't start up. If it is running when I disable MMS, it loses connection and I can't see any backup plans. Stopping and starting the service had no effect, I still can't delete the task.

You can delete the incomplete non-editable, non-deletable tasks following the below steps:
1.Run Schedmgr.exe and issue the following command: C:\Program Files\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery
task zap
2.Delete the content of the following folders:
Windows XP, Windows 2000/2003 (32/64 bit)
- \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\Policies\
- \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\TasksStorage\
- \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\PolicyStatistics
Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 (32/64 bit)
- \ProgramData\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\Policies\
- \ProgramData\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\TasksStorage\
- \ProgramData\Acronis\BackupAndRecovery\MMS\PolicyStatistics
But you will have to recreate ALL the tasks. Acronis did not factor in a method to remove individual failed plans.

Hi all!
Thank you for your comments!
Steven is almost right, and I just wanted to add, that there's actually an opportunity to delete just the fault task. Here how you can do it:
- Run schedmgr.exe and issue this command
get list
It will provide you with the list of tasks you have - Find the one you need to delete and enter the following command:
task [task_number]
This will get you to this task menu - As soon as you are in the task menu, enter
Delete
and the task will be removed
