Can't join agents to AMS 11.5 Server...

Thread needs solution

Hi all

We have an AMS 11.5 server running in our domain. I can push agents out from the console to machines in the domain and we have scheduled jobs running OK.

However I need to add some non-domain workstations in - firstly I tried to push the agent out from the AMS console and could not get that to work despite using admin credentials valid on the end workstation.

So, trying another tack, I manually installed the agent on a machine (which worked fine, and talked to license server fine) then tried to change it to a managed machine and add to the AMS server. Again no luck, after prompting for credentials and looking like it's doing something, I get a message with errors relating to "unable to contact MMS service".

Has anyone got this scenario working and, if so, how?

Thanks!

Hello Justin,

If these are Windows 7 or above, you will probably have to disable UAC or use the default Windows administrator user (who is disabled by default)

Note that for Windows 10 you have to go through the registry + reboot the machine to truly disable UAC. Just lowering the slider doesn't work.
