Can't start Restore process

Thread needs solution

I used my Win7 machine to take a volume image of my Windows Home Server primary hard disk. When I went to restore it to a backup hard disk, it displayed an alert saying that the server OS wasn't supported. It seems odd that it'd let me make a back up of the disk without letting me know that I wouldn't be able to restore it, but that's a separate issue. :)b

So, I downloaded the trial version of Backup & Recovery and attempted the restore. When I go through the Recover Data wizard and set the values for all the required fields, the OK button never becomes enabled so I cannot actually start the restore process.

Am I missing something or is this just not something that is supported (or not enabled on the trial version)? FWIW, I'm restoring a single volume (20GB OS and 911GB DATA disk). The hard disk I'm restoring to is the identical version to the original (WD10EARS).

Hello steve haase,

Thank you for your post. I will definitely help you with this.

To answer your last question first, the trial version is fully functional for 15 days. The recovery CD has a limitation for creating backups.

You are correct, Acronis Backup and Recovery 10 does not support Windows Home Server.

However, can you please clarify so that I can assist you better, the OK button is grayed out in Windows 7 or in the Windows Home Server? Can you create a screenshot of the recovery window so that I can take a look at your recovery scenario and assist you better.

Please let me if you have additional questions.

Thank you.
