Command line (DOS) version of product?

Thread needs solution

Got a laptop which I can only boot from floppy into DOS command line. I can remotely map a drive on a remote server.

Is there a version that will run from command line allowing me to backup the C drive on this machine?

In the past, we've done it this way and run a DOS version of Ghost.

Hi Paul,

There is (used to be?) a version running on DOS named TrueImageCmdDos.exe and which worked perfectly well on Acronis True Image Echo.

Now, with Acronis Backup & Restore 10, this tool is nowhere to be found... while the documentation states it does exist.

I'm eagerly waiting Acronis to respond to my thread here : http://forum.acronis.com/forum/3588

That said, TrueImageCmdDos doesn't deal at all with the network or the NTFS support. There are some excellent free bootdisks on the internet with network and/or USB support.

Hello paul williams and Lucius Vorenus,

Thank you for choosing Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.

Unfortunately, current versions of Acronis programs do not support DOS based operating systems, even from command line. trueimageCMD is intended for operations via Windows CMD, but not from DOS itself...

paul williams, is it possible for you to boot laptop from any other media? Such as CD, flash, PXE? If yes - it would be possible to create a backup of your HDD.

Thank you.
