Constant crashes on W2k3 Release 3

Thread needs solution

Hi,
I finally had the time to install our upgrade of Acronis Backup&Recovery Server for Windows incl. Universal Restore. It´s a dual xeon box with 2 GB RAM, 60 GB IDE system disk and a 3.6 GB Scsi-Raid attached with an Adaptec 39160. Operating system is Windows Server 2003 R2 SP 1 Standard. The server runs as a windows file server, has a Bulletproof FTP-Server, ExtremeZ for our Apple clients, PC Duo for remote management and the up to date F-Secure Anti-Virus server installation, Firewall is not active.
Until now all backups are done with the Acronis Backup Medium so this is a clean first time installation. I´m trying to install . Too bad it doesn´t work. What I´ve tried so far, also after some reading of the forum:
First installation did go with version 10273. Acronis Managed Machine Service just died after a restart. Manual starting of the service failed.
Second installation: Removed first installation installed version 11133, always with default settings and correct serial numbers, but that was a bad move. Now I got a tray icon Which spamed me with "Acronis Manages Machine Service has an error" (Sorry, translated from german) even after I had changed the starttype from automatic to manuell. In the application log I got the following error description: "Application failure mms.exe Version 10.0.0.11133 in ntdll.dll 5.2.3790.1830 at offset 0002f583.
I also have tried to change the login options from the Acronis generated account to system account for no help.

I´m really run out of ideas so any help would be welcome.

Best regards,

Mike

Hello Mike,

Thank you for using Acronis Corporate Products

To find the exact reason of the issue we need the crash dump file. Could you please do the following?

- Press the Start button, choose Run, type drwtsn32 and hit Enter;- In the dialog that appears check the Log File Path and Crash Dump paths;
- Set the Crash Dump Type to Full.
-  Make sure the Dump Symbol Table option is checked, then click the OK button;
- Reproduce the problem;
- drwtsn32.log and user.dmp files will be created in the directories specified in Log File Path and Crash Dump.

Please attach the files to your next post.

Thank you.

Hi Oleg,
I actually switched back to Acronis 9. I´ll try the suggested way later this month.

Best regards,

Mike

Hello Mike,

Thank you for your response.

We expect a new build release very soon in October. I can suggest you to try a new build of the program after its release.

Thank you.
