Create bootable HDD with multiple images

Thread needs solution

Good Afternoon,

We maintain a lab environment with heavy restrictions regarding network connectivity. To date, we've been loading multiple images on external HDD's and using a bootable CD-ROM to image a machine. This is fine, but I'm looking to streamline this process.

I was wondering if there was any known way to boot from an external HDD with an automated environment where all lab technician has to do is select an image from a displayed list.

Honestly, I don't even know where I would start. I'm thinking perhaps a GRUB boot manager with a list of available images, once selected it goes into the Acronis boot environment to automatically restore to disk 1.

I know this might be a little difficult, if not impossible, I just wanted to ask the question just in case anyone might be able to give me a hint or two.

Thank you,
Rob

Hello Robert,

thank you for your posting!

Please take a look at the other Acronis product called Acronis Snap Deploy 4. It allows the creation of multiple templates for so-called user-initiated deployments.

Probably this is a solution which you are looking for.

Thank you.
