Data Not Valid Error When Restoring

Thread needs solution

I am using Acronis Windows Server with UR to Migrate a server to a newer box. The new box has a
Dell PERC S100. I built a Windows Based Boot Disk to incorporate the drivers and the boot media can properly see the RAID5.

The problem is, when the recovery gets to 50% it fails with a Data Not Valid Error. I have created new backups at least 4 times and validated each one multiple times. It seems to only give this error when using the PERC.

Hello Nathaniel!

Welcome to our Forum, it's nice to have you with us! I understand your concern and will be glad to help you.

Unfortunately due to the lack of information it's hard to say what exactly went wrong. It can be the hardware compatibility issue, bootable media glitch, etc.

But before we proceed with inverstigation, let's try to change the bootable media. Even in case it won't help to solve the problem, it will definitely help to localise it:

Please download the latest updated media from your account and burn it onto the CD. Boot your machine from it and reproduce the issue.

Should the problem remain, please gather the following data:

  1. Acronis Linux Report
  2. Recovery log
  3. Acronis Info from the source machine
  4. Acronis Report both from the source and target machines

After that please kindly contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

The linux cd is not an option. It does not see the array. I am installing PE3 and burning new boot media to try next.
