Dedup and UR Add-ons don't use the Licenses from License Server

Thread needs solution

Hi

I'm having problems installing the two add-ons: Universal Restore & Deduplication (latest build 11105).

I have 5 full AB&R10 Adv. workstation licenses and 5 deduplicaions and 5 Universal Restore licenses - all installed on the License Server. The server shows the AB&R10AW to be used but the UR and Dedup licenses is shown as available

I Installed the Agent AND Dedup AND UR in one pass using remote installation. Then I found out that Successful remote installation of the agent and add-on in one pass is not guaranteed.

So I uninstalled everything.

Then I install the agent first (and run a scheduled backup). Then I install the add-ons (during installations I specified to use my license server with the 5 licenses installed). Now Installation goes fine BUT the licenses is still shown as unused in the License server and trying to use deduplication result in an error (Either not installed or no connection to License server).

After this I have tried to Install/uninstall the program in several ways (but always first install the agent then the add-ons)

Install:

Both remote and local.

Used the installation package.

Extracted the add-ons to a separate .msi file and installed them separately.

Use the separate .msi file and choose to enter the license key (key is rejected!)

Uninstall:

Uninstalled from control panel - add remove program.

Uninstalled from the installation package (remove program)

Anyone have any Ideas?

I had almost the same issue. If you install the add on locally - is the licence server given while the agent install displayed and readonly?

If not it is exactly the same issue I had - you can install the add on but licence is not active. The only solution I found was reinstall and hope ;) at the end it worked. (sequence FIRST agent then maybe reboot second add ons).

Hello Jesper,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]

I am sending a solution via PMs to avoid the improper usage by other customers. In the current case this solution can be applied, but it can disserve if the issue is related to another reasons or it has other symptoms.

Thank you.

I'm having the exact same problem, apart from some machine are actually picking up the dedupe license and others are not. 10 Workstation licenses, 10 Dedupe Licenses, 1 x License Server. Installed Acronis on 6 machines, 4 picks up the dedupe license but the other two refuses and errors out when trying to backup. Multiple re-installs makes no difference.
