different file size of Backup image but both images qualified as 'valid' by the validation task

Thread needs solution

Hi there,
we made a backup image of a c-drive and copied it to our RAID afterwards.
The filesize on the RAID HDD is 6'024'465'408 Bytes, on the 80GB transport volume its 6'024'848'384 Bytes.
The validation task was run on our workstation PC, not on the original PC that we backuped up.
Can we trust the validation task?

Greetings from Switzerland,
Martin

Hello Martin,

Welcome to our Forum, we're glad to greet you here. I understand your concern, and will do my best to help you.

In case you have validated the backup on the RAID, and it was reported as valid - there is nothing to worry about. Still there is another method to check the validity of the backup, you might want to check it as well: mount the backup.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
