Disabling cataloging does not disable cataloging

Thread needs solution

I got tired of those 'cataloging' processes. As the catalog is not working consistently anyway, i wish to disable it completely.

Each backup plan has an option to "turn off cataloging after backup".

But this doesn't change anything - the backups get catalogued anyway. Did I get something wrong?

Hello Heiko
When cataloging is turned off, Acronis does not look through files. Disks and volumes are cataloged anyway, but this does not seem to be a long process. With a file-level backup, I cannot guess what cataloging does. Probably, it needs time to acknowledge the fact that it is turned off.

Partly right. It looks like in the catalogue there are no files displayed anymore. I guess I'll have to wait until the fully catalogued archives get deleted by the plan.
