Driver not found during restore

Thread needs solution

I'm doing my first restore and it is to a different computer. I selected Universal Restore and part way through the restore I'm getting this message:

Device driver 'PCI\VEN_1002&DEV_4390&SUBSYS' for XP Pro cannot be found. Place the driver on removable media and click Retry

How do I figure what driver is needed and how do I get it?

Hello Peter!

Welcome to Acronis Forum, we are glad that you joined us! I will be glad to assist you with this problem!

According to the PCI ID specified it looks like Acronis Universal Restore cannot find drivers for SATA Controller, which is critical for the restored system booting up.

In order to obtain correct drivers, please contact the vendor of your chipset and other dissimilar mass storage device hardware (motherboard, RAID controller, etc). Unpack the received drivers  to be in *.inf and *.oem format, place them into one folder and specify the path to it during the process of recovery.

I would also advise you to take a look at Acronis Universal Restore instructions with the step-by-step screenshots - you may find this information useful.

In case the issue persists, please kindly contact our Support Department with the step-by-step description of the problem - they will be glad to help you.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!
