Hi,

We're using Backup & Recovery Advanced Server Virtual Edition and want to have VM backups on two different drives (local and shared folder), but we couldn't get it to work. Does the dual destination backup feature only works on file and volume level backups, but not VM backups? Please advise. Thanks.

Dual destination backup is available in the ABR Virtual edition. It's effective for both Windows and Linux operating systems, when the primary backup destination is a local folder or Acronis Secure Zone and the secondary destination is another local folder or network share. Managed vaults and FTP servers are not supported as secondary destinations. (see more details about it on p.113 in the User's Guide)

So there should be no problems. I would like to help you with the issue and would appreciate if you could gather the following information:

  1. Exact sequence of steps performed
  2. Error message if any
  3. Acronis info from the problem machine
  4. Vitrual appliance logs

After that please kindly contact support directly with the information attached. Keep in mind that should there be any procrastination with the reply, you can always specify us the case number. We will do our best to speed up the process.
