Email backup does not complete

Thread needs solution

new here, tried to find a previous post on this topic, but do not seem able to.
I have been using True Image 11 for some time and have successfully backed up both Computer and Email data & progs. I decided to reinstate my backups recently (full backup followed by daily incremental backups).
Backup for computer worked OK, but when I came to the email part (Outlook 2003), it gets to 99% complete and then sticks and will not complete.

Anyone able to cast some light on this? Hugely appreciated. thanks

Hello James,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

First of all, please find out the size of the Outlook.pst file by browsing to where it is located:

- Windows XP

C:\Documents and Settings\[user_account_name]\Local Settings\Applications Data\Microsoft\Outlook

- Windows Vista

C:\Users\[user_account_name]\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Outlook

If Outlook.pst is larger than 500 MB in size, the only way out is to upgrade the program to Acronis True Image Home 2010, this issue has been resolved in this version.

In this case I may recommend you to install a trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2010 available here in order to make sure that the program runs flawless for you.
If you would like to purchase the upgrade to Acronis True Image Home 2010, please visit the Acronis online store.
If Outlook.pst is smaller than 500 MB in size, please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program #8101. You can find out the build number by selecting "Help" option, "About". You can learn more on how to download the latest build here.
See if the issue remains. If the issue still persists, please obtain the below information and attach to your next post:
If you use Windows XP:
- Download and unpack the Device Tree application.

- Run the application;
- Completely unfold the \Driver\Disk and \Driver\FtDisk branches (please see the attached file);
- Move the margin to the right in order to see all the items;
- Make a screen shot and attach to your next post.

Please note that the application may crash the system when you exit, so we recommend you to save all your work and close other programs prior to running it.

If you are not familiar with making screen shots, please read the below step-by-step instructions.

- Get to the window which you want to make a screen shot of;
- Hit the (Alt+)PrintScreen button on your keyboard;
- Run Paint usually available in Start\Programs\Accessories or another graphics application;
- Choose Paste command in Edit menu;
- Save the result picture in JPEG format being preferable.

If you use Windows Vista:
- Download and unpack the Device Tree application.
- Run the application from "i386" folder (run the 64-bit version of Device tree from "x64" folder if you have Windows Vista 64-bit);
- Completely unfold (click on all plus signs) the \Driver\partmgr and \Driver\volmgr branches;
- Move the margin to the right in order to see all the items;
- Make a screen shot and attach to your next post.
Please let us know the results. Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.
Thank you.
