Error #1326 "logon Failure, unknown user name or bad password

Thread needs solution

Every time I try to use the one click protection option I get this message "Error #1326 'logon Failure, unknown user name or bad password"'. I have tried running in safe mode to check passwords and try running again and that didn't work. I just have the Admin account as an option and I am running windows XP home. Please let me know what I can do to avoid this error.

Having the same problem. Trying to activate 1-click protection but I get the "Error #1326 'logon Failure, unknown user name or bad password"'

The computer is a Dell Vostro 1320 running Windows 7 Pro.

The username that populates in the dialog box is: "DellWin7\Name" but when I look at Processes under Task Manager, it just says "Name". I don't know if this matters but when I tried it without the "DellWin7\" and just put "Name" into it I get the same error. I don't have a password on this laptop so I left it blank, but I get the 1326 error.

How do I get this to work?

Hi Bob,

can you please clarify which program version you are using? Have you followed troubleshooting steps in this article
