Error E000101F4
I have Acronis True Image 9.0. I have previously made an image of my hard drive. Today I tried to restore the image to my replacement hard drive. I keep getting the error stating that it has not found any hard drives. I am desperate! I don't have any antivirals programs running - as far as I know. Please help. If I were to update to the latest version of Acronis, would it recognize the image file created by Acronis True Image 9.0? Please help. <e-mail address removed by moderator for security safety>

Hello Roman and Douglas!
Thank you for reporting about the issue and please accept our apologies for the delay with the response. I will be glad to help you, but first we need to localize the issue, so could you please kindly specify when exactly you receive this error: on using the software from the Acronis Bootable Rescue Media or from Windows?
1. Should you receive it on using from Windows, the most probable issue is a glitch in the SnapAPI drivers responsible for identifying the drives, so we need to updated them. Please note that different versions of products uses different versions of SnapAPI!
For Acronis True Image 9 please kindly use this version of SnapAPI (222)
For Acronis True Image Home 2009 please use this (version 380)
Please install it and try again.
2. Should you use the Acronis Bootable Rescue Media of Acronis True Image Home 2009, please kindly obtain the latest build from your account here as shown on the screenshot, burn it onto the CD and test whether it resolves the issue. We recommend you to refer to this article if you are not familiar with ISO burning.
Should you use Acronis Bootable Rescue Media for Acronis True Image Home 9, please let me know, I will help you with obtaining the newer version.
I would appreciate if you could try the solution and let me know whether everything is fine. Should the issue persist, we will definitely resolve it.
Thank you!

Thanks to Yana for saying there are different versions of the Snap API driver update.
I have TrueImage version 8.0, on a CD, not a download, which I bought several years ago at an Acronis presentation at a computer society meeting.
I don't know if I ever registered it before. Where is its serial number? I don't see it on the package, on the CD, or in any of the files.
I started getting the E000101F4 error after I upgraded from Windows 2000, SP4, to Windows XP, SP2, and then installed SP3.
Which Snap API driver update should I use?
Is there an update for version 8.0? My copy is build 768.
There is a second problem which started a few months ago. When I try to schedule a backup, True Image says a backup has already started, and it won't schedule a new one. Rebooting fixes it. Will the update resolve that?
Thanks

Dear Dave!
Thank you for finding time to report about the issue, I will be glad to help you!
I regret to inform you that version 8.0 is an outdated one and not developed anymore, thus it has no SnapAPI updates and may fail to support some modern hardware.
But I believe we have a fix for that. Please kindly check your private messages - I have sent you the link and the instructions. This should resolve the issue with scheduling the backups as well.
I would appreciate if you could kindly keep us posted regarding this question so that we could provide you with the further assistance.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
Thank you!
