error: failed to update the backup plan

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have installed the Acronis Backup & Recovery. I can create a backup plan that runs manual. The problem is that when I try to change the backup plan to do a scheduled run -custom or simple-. Then I get the error attached in the file.

Thanks in advance,

Tom

Hello Tom,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]

The easiest way is to recreate the backup plan (instead of editing it). You can also check if all previous setrtings are the same ones as you have specified.

Thank you.

I am having exactly the same issue when trying to alter a Grandfather-Father-Son backup routine.

As I understand it it is not simply a question on deleting the backup routine and starting again (as I seem to be doing quite a lot on acronis products lately) as I would effectively have to start a whole new set of backup sets. I dont want to delete the old but I am limited in space to create new.

This is unacceptable. I would dearly like it if acronis started to make their products less buggy and time consuming to manage.

Whilst I am on my soapbox I am also experienciing a message " acronis managed service is unavaliable". In my systemtray of my S2008 machine. perhaps this is related, perhaps not.

I have been a fan of acronis products for a few years now but I am sorely dissapointed with the quality of version 10. It seems that I spend half my time dealing with bugs in the software.
