ERROR!!! Not enough storage is available to process this command

Thread needs solution

I have been getting this error on multiple machines for the better part of a month now and am at my wits end in trying to figure it out. The machines in question have more than enough HD space as well as RAM. All of the answers I have found have not worked for me (i.e. Change the IRStackSize in the registry, clean Temp files, etc...) Any help or direction is appreciated.

The PC's are as follows:
Dell Precision T5500 Windows 7 Professional 64bit
256GB HD (approx 80% free)
6GB RAM

We are running Acronis Backup & Recovery 11

The backups were working just fine about 2 months ago.  If I click okay on the error message, the backup runs fine.

Thank you for posting this issue in our forum.

Snapshot issues can have several causes. Please try out the provided solutions in the order, I have posted them:

  • Use the MS VSS instead of Acronis VSS. See this article from our knowledge base for more information.
  • You can move the temp file for the snapshot to a volume that has more free space. See this article from our knowledge base.
  • You can disable the Volume Shadow Copy Service option in the backup plan, if you do not host any kind of SQL database on this machine.
  • You can download the latest available SnapAPI (640 is the latest) and install it. See this article from our knowledge base for more information.
  • You can download and install the latest available build of your product (11.0.17440). See this article for downloading and for installing from our knowledge base.

Peter, thanks for the response. Below is what I have done according to your above recommendations:

Volume Shadow copy is already disabled
The volume that is housing the temp file has more than ample space
Going to install the latest version of SnapAPI
We are running the latest build of ABR.

I have recreated the backup task before I saw this post and that seems to be working for the moment. I will post again if I see this error pop up in the future.
