Error: Routine failed to serialize result
Hey,
I am running acronis backup and recovery 10 sbs edition for a client. Before I installed SBS, I had the client on the trial version of acronis 10. Everything was working great. After I uninstalled Acronis 10 though add/remove programs in Windows Server 2003 x86 edition, and then install Acronis 10 SBS through the installer, my backup plans and tasks will not show up in the backup plans and tasks pane. I am veiwing all options through local machine management. I can create plans and they even run when I scheduled them but I am continually getting this error in my log:

I receive this message about 10 times a day.
If anyone has any idea of why this "mms.exe" is throwing up errors and/or keeping my backup plans and tasks window from populating my backup plans for review - please let me know!

I currently am running the latest build of SBS Edition 10.0.11105. I am not seeing any directly downloadable hotfixs. The only available download is the web installer for the latest build - which I already have.

Hello Douglas and Sean,
Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/ | Acronis Corporate Products]]
To resolve the issue please try to do the following:
Please close the program, go to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts and remove the files with the .tib.tis extension (if there are any). After that launch the program again and see if the issue remains.
I would also recommend you to update the build to the latest one (# 11105). You can learn more on how to download the latest build here.
Thank you.

Hi All can any one explain where we can download this 'patch' as mentioned above?
"log on to Acronis and go to the downloads section for your product. There is a 3.3MB patch that specifically addresses your issue."

Thanks for your feedback, but I tried the patch on the first day when I was troubleshooting the issue. The way I resolved the issue was to downgrade to an older version. Clearly the problem is with the new release.

I am currently using a trial version of Acronis 10 SBS build #11133 on a SBS 2003 server. Everything is installed locally. I am trying to create a backup task and I am not able to do so. Once I finsh the process of selecting my options (what to back up, where to save it, etc..), I am directed to the Backup Plans and Tasks screen and my newly created job is not present.
I went to to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Acronis\TrueImage\Scripts and removed the files with the .tib.tis extension. This did not help.
I checked my log file and I have several error messages all saying the following:
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Log Entry Details
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Is there a solution for this problem?

Hey Richard, Acronis has a great suite of products which I have been using for years. Unfortunately this is a recurring issue with the newer versions of Acronis, but does not happen every time. Like yourself, I have tried build #11133, removing the files with the .tib/.tis extensions along with anything else I can think of. This happens on all operating systems with there new products. I have installed and had the problem on Vista/Server 2003/SBS2003, etc., and will be trying it on Server 2008 this weekend (64-bit). I may have to find another solution for my clients if this keeps up.
The only way I have found to resolve the issue is more of a workaround; downgrade to an older version. Clearly the problem is with the new release.
I'm sorry this was not much help; kind of like trying to get support on their products ;-)

Hmmm, the link to the article in the last post does not appear to working; does this mean that update 1 is now available?

Hello,
I have the same problem like the others in this thread.
The Version is 10.0.11133 downloaded on the 16th of November.
I have the checked the script folder for files but there are no files in.
The link to the article to solve this problem manually doesn´t work.
Update!! here is the correct link http://kb.acronis.com/content/3734 :-)
So does anyone know how to solve this problem?
Thanks in advance for your efforts and help!
Best regards
Franz
