Error when using TI Home 11.0 to make a full backup via USB 2.0 to Drobo 2nd Generation

Thread needs solution

Help!

I'm using the latest updated version of TI Home 11.0; I'm using Vista Home Premium w/ updated patches.

I'm trying to make a backup of a folder that contains approximately 700 GB of photos.

[Note: I use TI Home 11.0 with a DroboPro (up to date firmware) and the iSCSi connection without problem on my other desktop to do all sorts of backup procedures.]

On this desktop but I'm running into all sorts of problems doing a full backup of a large folder of pictures over a USB 2.0 connection to a Drobo 2nd generation. I get the following error message:

Microsoft visual C++ This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

I'm trying to do this over a USB connection and it says it should take approximately 20 hours. It plugs along for about 1 hour and then hangs with the above error message.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Chris

Hello Chris,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/products/trueimage/ | Acronis True Image]]
This is well-known issue in the compression algorithm of Acronis True Image 11 Home.
Could you please do the following to work around the problem?
- Run Backup Wizard;
- As soon as "Choose Backup Options" window appears, select "Set the options manually";
- In the "Backup Creation Options" window set "Compression level" to "None";
- Proceed with the backup.
If the program is able to perform the backup, I would recommend you to upgrade your license to Acronis True Image Home 2010. This issue is fixed for this version.
I may recommend you to install a trial version  in order to make sure that the program runs flawless for you.
If you would like to purchase the upgrade to Acronis True Image Home 2010, please visit the Acronis online store.
Please let us know about the results.
Thank you.
