Hello Dave and DwnNDrty!
Many thanks to DwnNDrty for reasonable comment!
Dave, welcome to Acronis Forum and thank you for finding time to report about the issue.
Unfortunately due to the lack of information it is difficult to identify the cause of the problem. As far as I understood - correct me if I'm wrong - you are trying to backup to the external hard drive, but it is not recognized by the product.
In case the drive is seen from Windows, but not recognised by the product, I would advise you to update the snapapi drivers, responsible for creation of snapshot and for HDD recognition.
- Download SnapAPI update
-
Unpack the archive and run the SnapAPISetup.msi file;
- Go through the wizard screens and hit Proceed to install the update.
(!) You will need to reboot the machine to finish the installation.
Please note that this version of SnapAPI suits ONLY Acronis True Image Coprorate Product line.
Should the issue persist, we will need to take a closer look at the issue, so I would appreciate if you could kindly send us the following information.
- Acronis Info from the machine in question
- The screenshot of the error, if any.
- whether the drive is seen from Windows
- the build of the product
- the exact sequence of steps performed before you faced this issue
Please gather the info and submit a web request. I would appreciate if you could kindly let me know the case number so that I could speed up the process of resolving the problem.
Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!
