Failed Backup

Thread needs solution

I am receiving error messages on several files when doing a backup. I either have to abort the backup or skip the files. This is an example of one error I am getting on just one file:

E00040001:failed to backup file or folder (then the file name)
error reading the file (0x40001)
tag = 0x61F1883FE50B0A30
Snapshot read failed (0x10C45A)
The parameters is incorrect (0xFFFo)
code = 80070057)
tag = 0xBD28FDBD64EDB8AF

I've attached a copy of my log file for a run that I aborted. So, it does not show all the files with problems.

So, is there a solution to my problem?

Thanks,
Mark

Hello Mark,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.
According to our database, you are using Acronis True Image 11 Home. This version is an outdated one, we have had some issues in backing up files with a long path in this version.
To resolve the issue you can do the following:
1) Please copy the files to the root of the hard drive, decrease the amount of files that you want to backup and see if the issue remains.
2) Backup the entire partition (instead of the files and folders).
3) The issue has been addressed in the latest versions of Acronis True Image. I may recommend you to install a trial version of Acronis True Image Home 2010 available here in order to make sure that the program runs flawlessly.

If you would like to purchase the upgrade to Acronis True Image Home 2010, please visit the Acronis online store.

Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawlessly. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.
Thank you.
