Failed to check the backup archive

Thread needs solution

I am getting "failed to check the backup archive" when I try to restore a Acronis True Image Server 9.0 backup image using Acronis Backup Recovery 10 for Windows Server.

This is happening when using the bootable media CD. the image is from a NAS drive which I have full access to.

Hello Benny,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

Most probably, this model of NAS doesn't allow read access without authentication.

Therefore, to resolve the issue on the Recovery data screen, tick off Advanced view box. Click Change next to Access credentials under What to recover. Provide username and password for the Linux NAS.

See if the issue remains. If the issue still persists, please try to get the access to the archive using ISOLINUX CD.

There are two types of Acronis Bootable Media:

- Acronis Bootable Media that you can generate in your Acronis product. This type of media is based on Acronis Loader;

- Acronis Bootable Media that you can download from your account on the Acronis website. This type of media is based on ISOLINUX. ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the web site more frequently than regular product updates are released.

You can find the information on how to download the appropriate ISOLINUX file in this article

Please see this article on how to burn an ISO file to a CD disk.

Please let us know the results, we are looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest convenience. If the provided information is not clear or if you have any other questions do not hesitate to post them and we will be glad to answer.

Thank you.
