  • Do you backing up local drive or network drives?
  • What Acronis product and build you are using?

As snapshot can't be created anyway if you backs up files from a network share, you can turn off snapshot creation in backup plan options.

You are using a very old build of Acronis Backup and Recovery 10. So I recommend updating to latest available build 13762. There are many fixes implemented.

Did I correctly understand that you are backing up a CIFS share? Or you are backing up to a network share?

The snapshot message only occurs, when running a file backup on a machine with Acronis agent installed. Another known scenario is when you have attached your NetApp via iSCSI or fibre channel. Then the installed Acronis agent tries to perform a snapshot.

You should update to have the latest SnapApi version. The SnapAPI module is in charge of all I/O operations on the hard disk of Acronis software working in Windows. It also allows to create backups under running Windows with an unlimited number of files open for reading and writing without the necessity to reboot the computer.

To do this, you need first to register your product. Then you can download the latest build.
