Failed to create volume snapshot. Linux
I have just downloaded and installed Acronis on SLES 10 SP3.
I was able to install after also installing the development kit (gcc and kernel source).
I am trying to backup to an RD1000 Removable cartridge (/dev/sda). There is a partition on the cartridge (/dev/sda1). I couldn't see the device in the Mgt Console until I mounted it, so I assumed the cartridge has to be mounted before doing a backup. So, the pre-backup command is a mount command: mount /dev/sda1 /mnt and the destination is the /mnt directory.
I selected a Disk backup and checked all partitions on Disk2 (sdb1 sdb2 sdb3). I unchecked all the Dynamic and GPT selections.
The error message in the notification email I received was:

Task 'Simple backup' has failed on machine 'formhost'.
After logging in later, I noticed that /dev/sda1 was mounted twice! Once on /mnt (even though my post-backup command is umount /mnt) and once on /media/disk. Weird.
I have also attached the log files from
What am I doing wrong? How should I be initializing these cartridges?
TIA,
Dan

I tried to "submit a case". I attached the sysinfo report but did not get a "number". Maybe you can find it under my userid? (I hope so).
TIA,
Dan
