Failed to deploy ESXi agent appliance
I am having difficulties deploying the ESXi agent from AMS. I am running Acronis B+R w/Dedup 10 on my vCenter server. I have seen one post in this forum that exactly matched my scenario, but the solution did not help me (having to do with licensing). I have also tried manually installing the OVF template in vSphere, but it seems the problem is that the "AcronisESXAppliance" VM locks up during bootup. It gives me the 3-second countdown screen, then moves on to the next text-based screen. The last command it issues is "initrd /boot /ramdisk.dat". Then nothing else comes up. This makes the automated agent deployment from AMS fail. The CPU utilization for that VM pegs out at 100% until I stop the VM.
I am very new at VMWare and even newer with Acronis B+R.
This is the error I get when attempting the auto-deploy. SSIVC is my vCenter server, 192.168.1.233 is an ESXi 4.1.0 host:

Thank you for the reply, Yana!
I have been experimenting with this problem. I came to the conclusion that I needed to manually deploy the appliance, but also to upgrade it to a version 7 VM before starting it up. I still do not understand why the version 4 VM will not work, but I have the appliance started up now, so this can be marked as Solved if you wish.
Thanks again!

Dear Tony,
Thank you for keeping us posted and reporting that the issue got solved, I'm really glad to hear it.
We would surely like to investigate the issue with the 4 Vm, but we will need diagnostic information from it, and I assume it's no longer possible to obtain it due to the upgrade. It's ok, too. The most important thing is that the software is currently working, and the issue's gone.
Please let us know in case you need any additional assistance or face any new issue, we will be happy to help you.
Thank you!
