Trying to install Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Server for Windows French quits with Error 06442537, Sub-Error: 01603.

This concerns new install for Windows serveur 2008R2 French

Try the english version, perhaps this may help.

I have the german ABR server (standalone) edition and have no problems with install (tried it with Windows Server 2003 and Server 2008 R2).

Is there a antivirus softwar running in the background? If yes, disable it during the installation of ABR 10.

Thank you for finding time to report about the issue and for all your comments! I understand the issue and will be glad to help you with it right now.

First, Alexandre, thank you for the *.msi log provided, it helped a lot, though still there are some questions regarding the cause of the problem. Let's check first of all whether everything is set correctly for the installation.

  1. Please kindly check whether services are started on the machine in question. The following services should be started: Volume Shadow Copy, COM+ System Application, Distributed Transaction Coordinator (Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services).
  2. Please make sure that you have disabled all the antiviruses, third party backup software and firewall on the moment of installation, as suggested by Forellenblau (thank you).

Actually there is no difference whether to install English or French version: language localization doesn't play any role in the installation process.

Should the issue persist, we'll need additional information. So could you please kindly specify me the following information: 

  • Is it absolutely clean install or there were some Acronis products on that machine previously
  • The screenshot of the issue
  • Windows Event Logs ( Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer)
  • Windows System Information

It looks like some traces prevent the program from the installation. Please do the following to install the program:
1) Please delete the following value in the register (Start -> Run -> regedit):
HKLM\Acronis\Encryption\Server\UseCertificate
2) Please remove the file located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\Agent\certificate.pem.
3) Please check if undesired Acronis services are present at the system (Start -> Run -> services.msc). If you see Acronis service, please delete it manually using sc delete command (Start -> Run -> cmd).
Type sc delete and the service you want to remove (you should specify the service by the service name), for example, if you want to delete Acronis remote Agent, you should type:
sc delete AcronisAgent
After that try to install the program again.

IF STILL NOT INSTALLING:
Please make sure that you are using the latest build of the program #11345.
With this build you can install the Acronis Agent ignoring the Cscript error by issuing the following command:
msiexec.exe /i [PATH]AcronisAgentWindows.msi IGNORE_VSS_REGISTRATION_ERRORS=1
where [PATH] is the path to where you have the AcronisAgentWindows.msi file.
For example,
msiexec.exe /i C:\AcronisAgentWindows.msi IGNORE_VSS_REGISTRATION_ERRORS=1

IF YOU DON'T WANTS TO IGNORE THIS:
Uninstall all the acronis components with Revo Uninstaller.
After this manual Scan your registry for the name Acronis en delete all finding keys
Reinstall Acronis components in this shuld work.

IF STILL NOT WORKING:
REINSTALL YOUR SERVER 2008 R2 .. INSTALL ALL MS UPDATES..
INSTALL ACRONIS WITH NO PROBLEM.
