failed to run backup and recovery engine HELP!!

Thread needs solution

HI I Have just install acronis backup and recovery 10 sbs edition.

I have setup my bakups but after 40 second they pause for a unknow reson then i get a error stating "failed to run backup and recovery engine"

I have read a few simial issues on this forum and tried all the thing with vss but still the same? can any body shed some light on this?

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. 
To find the exact reason of the issue we need to view the log file of the failed operation. 
Could you please provide us with the log file of the failed operation in .XML format? 
- Launch the program;
- Connect Management Console to the Agent; Log;
- Choose the log entry that contains errors;
- Click on the diskette icon Save all to file;
- Specify the location you want to save the file to;
- Attach the log file to your next post.

Same problem on SBS 2008 with ABR 10.0.11345.

I am having this exact same issue. At this point I am unable to use the software. Is there a fix for this issue?

Unfortunately it is almost impossible to identify the issue having only this error: it is a common message and may indicate up to 50 different reasons. In order to fix the problem we need to have all diagnostic information available. Could you please provide us with the following data? 

  1. Screenshot of the error
  2. Exact sequence of steps performed
  3. Acronis Info from the machine you're having the issue

This information will shed the light to the situation and help us to identify the cause.

As for the steps I took, basically it was working...I rebooted the server, and it stopped working. I already disabled SQL Express VSS writer.

True Image 2010 home, purchased on 7-11, so far program will not backup, unable to read log file because it only shows the last entry in the log. When I click to the beginning of the log it goes to the the last entry.

After following the instructions of tech support, I now have a totally non working application. My licenses wont even work anymore. I am done, going shopping for new software.
