Full Backup

Thread needs solution

Hello everybody..

we used "True Image Echo" and the versions before to make a daily backup of our systems... with the new version there are some problems/questions:

we only want to create a task for all days in the week.. every time we start a backup, the backup from the week before are not overwritten..

e.g we start the backup task for monday.. a new archive is created.. but the name of the tib file ist not only the given archive name (e.g 01-Monday.tib) the name is 01-Monday_02_10_2009_..tib.. the next week the task starts, another tib file is created (01-Monday_09_10_2009...tib)..

where is the problem ? we only want to use a full backup, no incrementel or differenziel backup
is there a possibility that the name of the archiv is only e.g 01-Monday.tib ?

Greets from Germany..

Hello Sebastian,

Thank you for using Acronis Corporate Products

You can use Retention rules for your purposes.

You should tick Delete backups older than box and specify, for example, 6 days.

This is a time interval counted back from the moment when the retention rules are applied. Every time a retention rule is applied, the program calculates the date and time in the past corresponding to this interval and deletes all backups created before that moment. None of the backups created after this moment will be deleted.

Select retention rules to be applied after the backup (the rules are effective if an archive contains more than one backup).

Please see the article 2.7 of User Guide for Acronis Backup & Recovery 10.0 Server for Windows available here.

By the way, especially for the requirements that are similar to yours, we are planning to make the possibility to delete the old archive easier, by ticking the respective box. We expect this option to be added in the next build.

Thank you.
