Fully unattended Restore for ABR10 from bootable media

Thread needs solution

For my computer-illiterate spouse, I would like to create a fully-automated, unattended bare-bond ABR10 restore for a PC machine using bootable Linux-based Acronis USB flash drive as follows: She boots from a USB Flash drive created with ABR10, the drive has a *.tib copy of entire HDD. So basically, she would only need to know how to boot a computer from a USB media. Everything else should be automated/unattended. Is there a way to write a simple script? Perhaps, a Linux script for a non-linux person? Thanks.

Hello rybshik,

I want to welcome you to our forum and thank you for posting. I will definitely help you with this.

We do not have such scripts or examples of such at the moment, but I can offer you a much simpler workaround.

When saving a backup file to a removable media, you can enable a backup option called media components-Acronis Bootable Agent and One-Click Restore. This can be done from the Create backup plan menu->Backup options->Change->Media components.

With one-click restore you simply click on that button and the recovery process will begin automatically without user interaction. I would recommend to check page 63 of our User Guide for additional instructions and useful tips.

The Acronis Bootable Agent is basically the same as if you created a regular recovery disk and burned it to a CD/DVD.

If there is anything else I can do, please let me know.

Thank you.
