Getting away from "Windows User" based password for program functionality
Acronis is always based off a Administror password (for installation) for the rights of the any "Backup Plan" within its application ((Acronis Back and Recovery 10, 11, 11.5 etc..)) The problem we run into with "user" based permissions is that within the Retail world of "PCI" compliancy regulations and Banking/Credit Card-Processor Audits, a group has to change the Password every 90 days (non- Domain setups). With this way of working and having 100's of sites its a night-mare for account control and when backups fail because of passwords expiring every 90 days ((Email notification setup is not the answer in these cases). We nned to look at a installation and procees that is not "USER" based but ((LOCAL/System Account)) where the installation is not based off a user but runs all the time and is not affected by password change....I have worked with support on this and have gotten nowhere with this. We used another product before going to Acronis and may have to switch back because of this "User" based control.
Thoughts?
